Meet Thor Pederson – he’s on a mission to visit every country on Earth.
Thor has two conditions on his quest.
- To keep to his budget of USD20/day
- And to not to step foot onto one single aircraft
Thor has been to 121 countries …. he’s able to do this whilst hitching free rides on container ships!
Whilst sea crossing can take a long time (up to two weeks sometimes), container ships can be full of hidden luxuries. Unlimited supply of hot showers as the water runs past hot engines is just one of the many perks that Thor has enjoyed on is many ocean voyages. Thor also enjoys the ability to sleep in and read a book. Sounds like heaven.
Thor admits that most of the time he just sees water most of the time, but he’s also seen the Northern Lights! Sometimes he’s also been lucky enough to see dolphins and whales on these long sea voyages.
Thor, traveling as an ambassador for the Red Cross, has also been documenting his journey on his blog.
