Requirements

To enjoy a smooth and uninterrupted shipping experience, here’s a checklist of some useful things you’ll need:

Documentation

Commercial invoice
  • Supplier product code/identifier
  • Full product name
  • Value (in AUD or alternative)
  • Invoice to party
  • Invoice from party
  • Incoterm
  • Keep cool temperatures (if chilled)
  • Invoice date
  • H.S code
Packing list
  • Supplier product code/identifier
  • Full product name
  • Reference to commercial invoice number
  • Number of pallets
  • Full dimensions
  • Nett weight (litres if liquid)
  • Gross weight
  • Number of outers (cases/carton/crate/bags etc.)
  • Number of items within the outer package (case/carton/crate/bag etc.)
  • Bill of lading
Import permit (if required)
  • Pending destination requirements
Certificate of origin
  • To match the commercial invoice
  • Commercial invoice required

Loading Limits

Buyer
  • Loading limit is set by supplier/buyer sales contract and applicable to the maximum of the container type, 20ft or 40ft (HC) being used
Suppliers – container loading
  • Standard container pallet size (1.1m x 1.1m) or (1.2m x 1.2m)
  • Cargo must be contained within pallet limits/dimensions
  • Maximum height per pallet, including pallet, will depend on product and weight
  • Pallets to be rated based on weight of loaded goods
  • Pallets must be shrink-wrapped or secured accordingly
  • Top stow/fragile labelling if required
  • Height – as per container guidelines

Packing policies

  • ISPM stamped/certified or plastic pallets only
  • Photograph of packed goods prior to delivery
  • Carton pallets must be shrink-wrapped
  • Other style products on pallets must be strapped
  • Cargo must be contained within pallet limits/dimensions
  • Packing list(s) attached to all cargo/pallet(s)
  • EES highly recommend that pictures of the container (all four sides & inside) be taken at origin prior to packing

Labelling requirements

  • All pallets must be labelled
  • A4 size/visible from a 2m distance (min)
  • In clear English (no abbreviations/shortenings/slang)
  • Printed or written in black permanent marker
  • Details must include
    • EES shipment number (S #)
    • Supplier name
    • Buyer name
    • Destination country
    • Pallet numbers (1 of #)
    • Top load only/fragile (if required)
  • Packing list to accompany A4 detail sheet
