A shipping container converted into five-star accommodation has become Australia’s first floating hotel – and it has docked in Sydney harbour.
The exclusive Spontaneity Suite arrived on Thursday and patrons lucky enough to secure a booking are transported to a secret location where the floating hotel is moored and then set free on the harbour.
The two 6.1-metre shipping containers makes use of its compact space by having a luxury Jacuzzi on the rooftop terrace and floor to ceiling glass panels surrounding the compartment for optimal viewing pleasure, The Huffington Post reported.
Netflix and Apple TV are also available for those who get tired of the 360 degree views of Sydney’s famous harbour and want to relax in bed.
The floating hotel usually costs an outrageous $36,000 per night, but in a bid for locals to experience their city in a different light, a discount has been offered.
The floating shipping container has a minibar and room service, with patrons having their meal choices delivered by a waiter on a boat.
