The amendments to the SOLAS convention edge closer to their implementation date of the 1st July 2016. The shipping industry is in information mode, collating and soaking up all the details they can on how to carry out the methods that are required to obtain the Verified Gross Mass (VGM). The VGM of a container will be compulsory after the 1st of July. No VGM – no ship.
