Update on Management of LCL and FAK containers for BMSB season

From Tuesday 9th October 2018, The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources ( the department) have industry of the that the LCL/ FAK container process.

All LCL/FAK containers shipped from France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Russia, and the United States of America will be held by the department under biosecurity control at the wharf.

This is regardless of whether they contain target high risk, target risk or all other goods.

More information can be found on the department webpage Management of LCL and FAK containers during the BMSB season , for goods shipped from both target and non-target risk countries between 1 September and 30 April inclusive.

Delays are felt across the country with the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources unable to keep up with entry processing.  Additional staff working additional hours have been added to ease delays.

Fumigation companies are also seeing delay times for services increasing.
