Earlier this month, we bought you notification of road works that were to commence in North Fremantle.
Fremantle Ports have released a more detailed explanation of the changes that are being made.
Modifications to the intersection of Tydeman Road and Napier Road in North Fremantle are expected to begin on Monday 5 May.
The changes are needed to provide safe access for trucks entering and departing an area of Fremantle Ports-owned land just to the west of the Railway Hotel.
The work will involve construction of a new entry and exit, relocation of existing services, installation of storm water drainage, modifications to traffic lights and signals and construction of a retaining wall.
A traffic management plan is in place and a traffic management specialist will manage the traffic through the intersection for the duration of the works.
To further ensure that any impacts on traffic are minimised, some key elements of the work will be carried out in the evening and early morning.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained, but will be re-routed around the works where necessary.
The project is expected to be completed in about two months.
