Twin Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach

Today we have some spectacular pictures to share from the Port of Long Beach and the Port of Los Angeles.

On a recent trip to the U.S., EES Administration Manager, Helen Hack snapped up some beautiful shots of these sprawling ports.

The Port of Long Beach is the U.S.’s second busiest container port. The Port of Los Angeles, adjoining the Long Beach port, is the first busiest.

Approx US$100 million in trade is generated by the Port of Long Beach and provides more than 316,00 jobs in Southern California.

There are 80 available berths at the Port of Long Beach.  The Port of Los Angeles boasts 270 berths!

Each shipping line at these ports has it’s own berth.

The Port of Long Beach is approx 40kms south of downtown Los Angeles.

The Ever Salute can hold 5620 twenty foot containers and is 300m long!

In 2013, the Port of Los Angeles handled 7.9 million containers.
