The newest world’s largest vessel has just been delivered.
This vessel is a whopper, and is able to hold a massive 20,150 twenty foot containers, surpassing the previously crowned World’s Largest Vessel by at least 600 containers.
Is the shipping industry obsessed with having the biggest ship in their fleet? This beauty (along with three others currently under construction) was ordered by Japanese shipping line MOL (Mitsui OSK Lines).
This vessel, named the MOL Triumph, is certainly that, triumphant in many ways. Check out these jaw dropping facts:
- Build at the Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea
- Length 400m
- Breadth 58.8m
- Depth 32.8m
The MOL Triumph is not only impressive in it’s size, but it also boasts energy saving equipment including the propeller, rudder valve, and stator. This record-breaking container ship also has an operation optimised hull.
