The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug’s season for 2016/2017 has been declared as over with the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources ceasing heightened measures from the 30th April. In addition, target goods from the United States will no longer be subject to the specific import requirements that were applied during the 2016-17 BMSB season.
Importers of break bulk and containerised vehicles, boats, machinery and machinery parts shipping from the United States are reminded that is their responsibility to ensure that their goods are imported free of biosecurity risks such as stink bugs throughout the year, not just during the period of heightened seasonal measures.
