This huge gold fan is actually a propeller that is due to be installed into a Very Large Crude Carrier.
What makes this propeller special is that it’s the 5000th propeller to be made by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea!
We weren’t lying when we said that this piece is huge.. This milestone propeller measures in at a whopping 10.6 meters in diameter and weighs a staggering 77 tonnes.
Hyundai Heavy Industries specialise in making these super sized propellers and are, in fact, they are the only company in Korea capable producing propellers bigger than 40 tonnes.
Back in 2001 Hyundai Heavy Industry won the Guinness Book of Records for producing the biggest propeller at the time – it was 102 tonnes!
