Today we’re discussing the containerised ports of Australia.
There are hundreds of ports around our fair country, but only some are load (and unload!) shipping containers.
Many of Australia’s ports handle bulk cargo only, note that they are not listed below:
New South Wales
Port Botany
Port Kembla
Newcastle
Queensland
Cairns
Gladstone
Rockhampton
Port of Brisbane
Thursday Island
Townsville
Victoria
Port of Melbourne
South Australia
Port Adelaide
Port Pirie
Tasmania
Bell Bay
Burnie
Devonport
Hobart
Northern Territory
Darwin Port
Western Australia
Fremantle Port
Esperance
Port Headland
Bunbury
Whilst the majority of shipping lines only call the major port in each of our states, occasionally there are instances when shipping containers can be moved via the others.
We hope that you have learned a little more about Australia’s containerised ports.
