The biggest ship to ever visit Australia made its debut in Fremantle this week on Tuesday 6th December just before 7am.
Ovation of the Seas is greeted at the harbour entrance by FP Response’s water cannon
The “Ovation of the Seas” launched in Europe in April this year. Here are some interesting stats on the vessel:
- This cruise ship weighs a massive 168,666 gross tonnes
- Is 348m in length
- Maximum occupancy 4905 passengers
- Maximum speed 22 knots
The Ovation of the Seas is bigger than the Queen Mary 2 which weighs 151,400 gross tonnes and is 345 meters in length.
The Fremantle Inner Harbour is 420 metres wide and the ship turned on arrival.
