It’s a bird … It’s a plane… No, it’s the SuperPier!
Once used as a portal to move cargo into New York City, the Hudson River Park Trust is transforming these old shipping docks into an amazing centre.
This 270,000 square feet shipping container complex is due to begin it’s transformation this month, and is set to become NYC’s premier retail complex.
The SuperPier website let’s us know that the mammoth complex will be home to a sky park, rock climbing gym, beach club, performance space and the Incubox market.
Along with restaurants and a rooftop garden, the SuperPier also will have rows of modular retail.
The $200 million project is due to be finished in time to open Summer 2015 and is to be constructed using repurposed shipping containers.
So if you love shipping (and shopping!) as much as we do, book your tickets early to explore this amazing waterside playground.
