Mooring skills

This interesting photo was taken by Inner Harbour Team Leader Terry Stainton demonstrates the precision with which vessels can be moored when space is at a premium. Just 20 meters separated the 267m Los Angeles Trader and the 260m Lahore Express when they were berthed close to each other on North Quay.

“Mooring is a combined effort from the Fremantle Ports mooring crews, Fremantle Pilots, Svitzer tug crews, and the Harbour Service line boat crews” Terry said. “They all work together to achieve the safe arrival of the vessels into our port.”
