It’s Friday! Now that you’ve made it to the end of the week, we’d like to show you this cool, innovative shipping container home that’s located in Canada.
This magnificent structure is made up of seven shipping containers, with the center living room containing eight sides. Isn’t it cool?
This home is completely off the grid and has been built using completely recycled materials. Running off solar power the owners wanted to create a getaway that was also completely animal and insect proof.
Sourcing the shipping containers was simple, with several yards surrounding Toronto selling them. The owners opted for twenty foot containers, with the price for these sturdy units being approx CAD4000 each. The containers were approximately one year old.
The owners seven year old daughter named the structure “The Octopod” after her favourite show, The Octonauts.
