Back in July this year $275m of crystal methamphetamine was seized – uncovered from under the floors of three shipping containers that arrived into Melbourne from China.
Two men, both aged 24, have pleaded guilty to their involvement in an international drug syndicate that arranged to have these goods smuggled into Australia.
Raymond Lach and An Ken Vi both pleaded guilty to a single charge of trafficking a commercial quantity of the drug. The men will reappear at court next year. They remain on remand in custody.
This mammoth stash of methamphetamine seized was estimated to be enough for 2.5 million “hits”.
