The 2016 G20 summit will be held in Hangzhou on the 4th and 5th of September, which is within 2 hours drive of Shanghai and Ningbo ports.
Some of the key measures taken by local governments to improve air quality and security are as follows:
Holiday from Thursday 1st September – Wednesday 7th September in the below districts (Sun 28th August, Saturday 10th September and Sunday the 11th September will be working days).
Hangzhou Economic Zone, West Lake Scenic Area, Shangcheng, Xiacheng, Jianggan, Gongshu, Xihu, Binjiang, Xiaoshan, Yuhuang and Fuyang.
Shanghai 29/08/2016 to 06/09/2016
High pollution vehicles in Shanghai are restricted from Hangzhou during this period of time (29/08-06/09). Production and traffic restriction will be applied to the southern part of Shanghai, to mitigate the impact on Shanghai exports. Note all dye factories are closing down for two weeks from the end of August.
There is no official announcement on transport restriction between Shanghai and Hangzhou and week 36 and 37, but it may have a negative impact on the export and import cargo flows, causing fluctuations before and during the event.
