Port Infrastructure Surcharge

Please be advised that effective as of the 10th of July 2017 Terminal Operator Patricks at the Port of Fremantle will be implementing a Port Infrastructure surcharge.

The infrastructure surcharge will be applied to both road and rail transport operators for all full container movements, both import and export.

The rates of the Port Infrastructure Surcharges will be AUD 7.50/container. Furthermore, the infrastructure levy will also apply to LCL shipments for both import and export cargo as a per cbm fee.

The Terminal Operator has justified the needs for the charge based on rent, land tax and council rate increases with the following specific reference “We have been notified of rental increases within our property portfolio of over 140% with some backdated to 1 July 2015”. The Operator has also stated that they are incurring rising terminal infrastructure maintenance costs relating to the landside interface operations and will use the surcharge as their cost recover mechanism.

The increase/implementation of the surcharge will also be in effect at the ports of Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as of the 10th of July, which is available upon request.
