Fremantle Ports Protected Industrial Action + Adverse Weather Cancellation

We are pleased to advise that the Protected Industrial Action by Small Craft Masters and Vessel Traffic Service Officers was cancelled on Saturday (24/08) after in-principle agreement was reached between Fremantle Ports and Marine Services employees.

“This is a positive outcome that will ensure shipping lines, importers and exporters and the public won’t be impacted further,” Fremantle Ports CEO Jodie Ransom said “It demonstrates that respectful and collaborative negotiation can deliver outcomes that work for all.”

Early Sunday morning, vessel movements resumed as weather conditions in the Fremantle Ports monitored area improved.

With the Protected Industrial Action and bad weather now over (for now) the port will return to business as usual with the backlog needing to be cleared.

We note that the Maersk Yellowstone was the first container ship to be bought into the Inner Harbour with operations commencing on this vessel in the early hours of Sunday morning.

We hope you see this notice as positive news, and our team will keep you updated on your shipments as more information becomes available.
