Christmas Gift Guide

November is here so there’s less than two months until Christmas! We’ve recently heard about one more special item that we think should be in EVERYONE’S stockings this year!

Today we thought that we’d share with you some amazing Christmas gifts that would be perfect for anyone that loves a little shipping in their lives.

The PLAYMOBIL Cargo Ship with Loading Crane is perfect for those that can’t get enough sea freight! Not just for children, this toy has a rotating and adjustable crane along with two containers.  You can also take control of the bridge through the cabin’s removable roof! My kids can wrestle me for it..

Fremantle local Sally Stoneman paints wonderful pictures of Fremantle.  This one above is titled Port Containers. The artwork that Sally paints is classic, with many others of Fremantle Port. We also love this one!

This Maersk Line Triple E Lego ship is one that’s very close to EES’ hearts. For six weeks last year our staff and visitors put this same lego model together.  We had so much fun and would definitely recommend this model as a Christmas present.  Shipping nerds rejoice!

One fact on shipping is that ninety percent of everything that we use in our day-to-day lives has come to you via our vast salty oceans. Author Rose George took it one step further, taking the journey from Felixstowe to Singapore on board a Maersk container ship.  Aptly named “Ninety Percent of Everything” this book offers everything from pirates to container terminals.

Who can forget Zazzle when it comes to awesome personalised gifts? For Christmas last year we featured some shipping inspired apparel. For this year, how about an iphone cover that features a cargo ship or perhaps some classic photo art. Maybe a one-litre water bottle is more your style? How about a cargo ship apron?

A last minute addition to our gift guide is this amazing wooden CMA CGM toy ship.

This gorgeous vessel is currently making waves on all of the shipping and maritime websites, and we know why!  Made by French wooden toy maker, VILAC, it’s aptly named “My First Containership”.

CMA CGM said the toy ship “is an educational toy to teach children how to stack shapes, and the first maritime themed wooden toy. It was designed according to CMA CGM largest container ships and was produced by VILAC – the French leading wooden toys manufacturer since 1911.”

Do you know of a gift that is ideal for someone that adores shipping?
