Back in June of this year the Quarantine Act 1908 was replaced with the significantly modernised Biosecurity Act 2015.
A key change that is to be noted from this replacement is a change to the wording on the packing declaration format.
The “prohibited packaging material statement” has been replaced with the words “unacceptable packaging statement”.
The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (Quarantine) will continue to accept packing declarations stating “prohibited packaging material statement” until the 16 June 2017.
After this date, all packing declarations submitted must comply with the new wording.
