The annual Customs Brokers and Forwarding Council of Australia (CBFCA) Western Australia conference was held at Observation City Hotel on Saturday the 16th May.
This yearly meeting of brokers and forwarders alike brings members of the industry together under one roof to discuss relevant topics along with providing important information.
This year both Phil Gray, EES Customs Manager and David Gibson, Customs Broker attended this conference.
The Key important issues to come from this day are as follows:
- Possible deferring of duty to become available from 2017
- China Free Trade Agreement coming on-line as of the 01/01/16 (to be confirmed)
- Fremantle Imports (twenty foot containers) down 6.9% from 2013-14
- Fremantle Exports (twenty foot containers) up 3.5% from 2013-14
