The shipment was imported as basmati rice, but it turned out to be hidden with ice.

The Australian Customs & Border Protection (ACBPS), along with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Department of Agriculture have uncovered a 200kg shipment of methamphetamine with a street value of up to $200 million.

The consignment was inspected by the Department of Agriculture, who identified a crystalline substance loosely distributed throughout the rice in the bags. ACBPS tested the powder, and confirmed that it was methamphetamine.

A controlled delivery of the shipment was arranged, with three people being arrested and charged.
