Stopping the meth

There has been a lot of articles and news reports lately on stopping the flow of methamphetamine into Western Australia.

Tough new laws designed to choke the flow of meth will now provide stop and search power to police on our country roads.

Police will also be given special power to conduct random searches at major freight and parcel distribution terminals, which could be locked down for up to 24 hours whilst inspections are carried out.

Police Minister Liza Harvey said the changes, which had been requested by police and mirror laws in other States, would make it significantly harder for drug dealers to smuggle products into WA and distribute them.
